Front
range:
The
Northern Front Range provides several exciting photo opportunties
at the right time of year. Spring is probably the best season when
the grass greens up, and the wildflowers start to bloom. The Boulder
area offers splendid foothill scenery, nice wildflowers, and even
a waterfall.
Difficulty:
Easy to moderate; 1 mile to 3 miles on well marked trails.

Indian
Peaks :
The
Indian Peaks wilderness area lies directly south of Rocky Mountain
National Park, and offers plenty of photo opportunties. Most trails
end up at picture perfect alpine lakes, and the area is covered in
wildflowers during the summer season. Sunrise can be spectacular when
clouds hug the peaks, and many sunrise spots are an easy stroll from
the parking areas.
Difficulty:
Moderate; 4 mile round-trip along wooded trails to lake above treeline.

*Fall
colors*:
The
northern Colorado mountains may not quite match the splender of the
South part of the State, but they still display rich yellow colours
in the Fall. The Peak to Peak highway that runs between Estes Park
in the North, and Nederland in the south provides wonderful opportunties,
as does many of the canyons feeding their way down from the peaks.
Difficulty:
Easy to moderate; 1 mile to 3 miles on well marked trails.
